My Promises To You

My goals are your goals. You can get out of bed, stand up from a chair and walk to your mailbox. Traditionally this is the point when insurance stops covering physical therapy, but if you want to ski, hike and run then let's get you there together.

You will see me the whole time, every time. I will be your therapist for your initial evaluation and for the duration of your treatment. You will never have to repeat your story for anyone else. When you reach out you will be contacting me directly.

You will have homework. I expect all of my patients to be committed to their recovery process. I am a strong believer in hands on treatment when needed however it is nothing without healthy habits. Plan to discuss exercise, diet and sleep.

I will come to you. I provide care in your home or office.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why don't you take insurance?

Insurance limits treatment options. For example, physical therapy emphasizing return to sport is often denied unless the patient is a professional athlete upon whose income is derived from participation in said sport. Recreational athletes should be supported and celebrated for their commitment to their own fitness. I find great joy in helping people who take ownership in their well-being. If you are willing to put in the work I will match it and then some. Insurance be damned.

Operating as a cash pay business also allows for more time per visit. Over the past 15+ years I have experienced an unhealthy push to see more patients in less time because of changes in insurance reimbursement. I believe we are reaching a critical point in healthcare where high quality providers are opting out of the insurance game because it is ironically taking a toll on their own health. Patients in turn are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with otherwise excellent physical therapists. I want to listen to your whole story without constraint. I want to review your medical history, surgical history, imaging results, must do's and want to's.

Bringing it full circle - holistic treatment options and more time. These two variables combined will necessitate a lower number of treatment visits getting you better faster.

Do I need a referral?

No, you do not require a referral from your physician. Physical therapists have been 'direct access' practitioners in the United States for many years, however insurance regulations get in the way. My doctoral program thoroughly prepared me to function as an autonomous primary care provider for musculoskeletal related dysfunction and I have been confidently practicing as such for many years.
